ARTRIGHT is a project established to promote professional practice and business acumen in the South African visual arts community.

Education Overview

The ART Education section aims to develop lectures & tutorials for educational institutions as well as a printed pack for communities without internet access. In the medium to long run we will look into developing a text book to compliment the lecture and tutorials.

The content will be based on the body of knowledge developed by ARTRIGHT. It will also provide current information on education programs such as internships and residencies.

For a bi-monthly newsletter on industry news, opportunities, vacancies, residencies and workshops from VANSA, please contact Audrey Anderson at

Lectures and Tutorials
ARTRIGHT's body of knowledge will be developed into easy to use lectures and tutorials for tertiary educational institutions to download and use. This will help promote professional practice at academic levels and introduce professional practices early in visual arts practitioners' careers.

Internships and Residencies
For those of you who are interested in participating in residencies and internships, we have put together a list of international and local programs.

Reading List
A reading list is provided if you want to do further research into a particular area that is promoted on ARTRIGHT.
